How to make money online for people with Autism
Exploring the realm of online opportunities opens a gateway for individuals with Autism to thrive professionally from the comfort of their homes.
About me and this site
Hello and welcome! I'm Nat. Like many other people, I've faced and continue to face challenges with communication, which has made getting a job, and therefore money, a very difficult undertaking.
This led me to searching online for "easy" ways to make money. Through trial, error and a lot of learning, I've found a few platforms that actually work, and a lot that turned out to be time sinks.
Now I have decided to create this site to share my journey and strategies that have worked for me, and I hope to inspire people who might be in a similar situation.
Important Note
I'd like to set some expectations before you read any further that this is not meant to be a guide to get rich quick, nor a means to replace a traditional job.
I intend for this site to help you support yourself as you grow as a person, to fund investment into yourself by buying books or courses and expanding your knowledge, so that when you are ready to take on a job, you will be more prepared than anyone else!
Cheers!
- Nat
Online money making methods I've tried
Surveys
I have tried a lot of survey websites and apps, the majority of which were a waste of time, either because the payout was so low it wasn't feasible or they were illegitamate. Regardless, I've found the most success with surveys.
Playing Games
There are some platforms that will give you gift cards of your choice if you play selected games for long enough. Some of them do work, I've had success with MistPlay, but it takes a long time to earn a £5 gift card.
Walking
There's a few apps that you can allegedly earn cryptocurrency or other digital currencies for walking, I'm not aware of any that pay straight cash. The one I tried is called SweatCoin. I didn't make any money from it.
Listening to music
A platform called Slice The Pie allows you to earn money by listening to new music and giving your opinion on it. I gave it a go for a few weeks but the miniscule pay and scarce supply of music to review makes it not worth your time.
Transcription
Transcription is a mixed bag for me. I had success with Rev for a short time, although the pay was low for the amount of effort you have to put in, a 10 minute transcript can easily take half an hour of concentration. But they have stringent quality control and will remove you from the platform if you don't reach a certain accuracy threshold. 😤
My best way to make money online
Alright, hear me out, I know if you've done surveys before, you probably find them tedious, boring and low paying, but there are some platforms out there that are a gold mine.
I started using Prolific in August 2022, and I've been using it on and off since then. I have made £735.21 on the platform. This is the only survey platform I've used since.
Note: I am not affiliated with Prolific
